Doing a bit of preliminary research for a pattern led me to these interesting early 1800’s fashion plates. I especially like the plate with the apron- a great example of the Georgian style pinner apron redesigned for the higher waisted Regency style. #aimeevictorian #regency #regencyfashion #1810sfashion #fashionplate #historicalfashion #historicalsewing #historicalfashionplate
So excited as I have finally finished preparing for my upcoming #lecture @hullfamilyhome1 on April 10th! I’ll be focusing on the important role that undergarments played in achieving fashion ideals from 1700-1880. We will be discussing the political/social influences on fashion, the various fashion styles and eras, and lots of lots of undergarments! I’ll be bringing in many pieces to show AND I’ll be giving a tutorial on how to create your own petticoat! Space is limited and going quickly- head to my stories for a link to call and reserve your seat! Hope to see you there! #aimeevictorian #historicalfashion #historicallecture #historicallectureseries #historicalsewing #18thcenturyfashion #19thcenturyfashion #19thcentury #fashioneducation #fashionhistorian #fashionhistory #educator
This painting is really giving me allllll the feels. I’m fairly certain birds are singing outside that window…..
Spent an enjoyable and informative afternoon at the Genesee Country Village today! I was able to take in-depth looks at several original gowns for future patterns coming out later on in the year! Stay tuned! All of the gowns were hand sewn and I just have no stinking idea how they made their stitches sooooo tiny!?!!! 🤪. #geneseecountryvillageandmuseum #aimeevictorian #historicalsewing #historicalfashion #historicalpatterns #19thcentury #19thcenturyfashion #historicalseamstress #historicalsewers #livinghistory #fashionhistory #fashionhistorian #entrepreneurlife #museumlover
