SAVE THE DATE! Spring 2024 Workshop dates are here! Registration details, times, etc. will be coming out right after the New Year. Unless noted, all workshops will be at the Hull Family Home in Lancaster, NY. Swipe to see a few more details for each workshop. I am also trying to see about creating a kids historical sewing class…more details to come! #aimeevictorian #historicalsewing #historicalfashion #18thcenturyfashion #18thcenturysewing #historicalpatterns #historicalworkshop #historicalsewingclass #sewingclasses #sewingworkshops #entrepreneur #womenownedbusiness #fashioneducator #historicaleducators #livinghistorian
She is done! A little bout of pneumonia kept me down for a few days, but I’m feeling better and was able to finish this little fun project up! I included loops and ties to create a more voluminous look in the petticoat. The gown and brown petticoat are worn over a false rump and, as a result, I graded the back of gown petticoat to be 2” longer than the front. Not sure which way I prefer the gown styled - tied up or left down…but I sure do love the back stitching! #aimeevictorian #historicalsewing #historicalfashion #historicalgown #1700sfashion #1770sfashion #polonaisegown #anglaisegown #georgianfashion #georgiangown #historicalseamstress #fashioneducator
Sleeves are in! All that is left are a few finishing touches and to hem. Overall I am very pleased with how this gown has turned out and look forward to wearing it next year! #aimeevictorian #historicfashion #historicalsewing #1700sfashion #1770sfashion #georgianfashion #georgiansewing #georgiangown #18thcenturyfashion
Lots accomplished today along with a very sore thumb from hours of hand sewing! 🤪. Very pleased with how this 1770’s gown is coming along and eager to get the sleeves in. Today I pleated the back, attached the petticoat to the lining which included loops and string to tie up the petticoat, top stitched the bodice to lining and cut the pocket openings. All that’s left is to attached the sleeves and hem! #aimeevictorian #historicalfashion #historicalsewing #1700sfashion #1770sfashion #georgianfashion #historicalseamstress #handsewing #wahm
Work continues on my 1770’s gown…. Today I made the lining, pleated and topstitched the back (just to practice for the main fabric) and began to attach the main fabric to the lining by hand. ☺️#aimeevictorian #historicalsewing #historicalfashion #18thcenturyfashion #1700sfashion #1770sfashion #1770sgown #handsewing #historicalseamstress
Draping and cutting out the lining for a 1770’s gown. While the main bodice back and skirt will be one piece, I like to start with the lining so I can make sure that I have the right fit. I am planning on creating several small tucks radiating off of the center back which you can see in the two large tucks in the lining/mockup. Once I create the back, I will take time to create 4-6 small tucks to give the appearance of multiple back pieces. I will work on the sleeves and the small shoulder straps tomorrow! #aimeevictorian #historicalsewing #historicalpattern #historicalpatterndrafting #18thcentury #18thcenturyfashion #1700sfashion #1770sfashion #georgianfashion #outlander #historicalseamstress
